By definition, a general HOME INSPECTION is a non-invasive, visual examination of the condition of a home describing the condition of the home at the time of the inspection. It does not guarantee the future condition or life expectancy of it's systems or components.
Furniture is not moved and sealed off areas are not forced open. If a property seller is so inclined, they can hide issues well enough that they will not be found. This seldom happens. Typically, the structural and mechanical defects of a home hide in plane site.
A general home inspection is not TECHNICALLY EXHAUSTIVE. Professionals from all aspects of construction can be contacted to inspect your potential purchase but it just isn't cost effective or practical. A technically exhaustive inspection can be arranged but would be in the area of $5,000 to $10,000.
I am proud to say that I am a member of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (INTERNACHI). It's my opinion that they have the highest standards and provide the best educational information/requirments in the field.

Prices for a good home inspection will vary depending on the distance required to travel, the age of the home and obviously the size of the home. Having said that, average prices are around $250 to $500. Keep in mind, a good Home Inspection is not something one should bargain shop for. You will get what you pay for.
After getting my college degree in Economics, I purchased a small construction company at the age of 25. We specialized in excavating, concrete repair, foundation repair, structural underpinning and waterproofing. I grew that business for 22 years but decided I needed a change. I received my inspection training from one of the best..Mark Beauchamp at Bluegrass Home Inspection Institute. I am licensed with the state of Kentucky (LICENSE NUMBER 241014); I'm Insured and looking forward to serving you.
